Our Story
The Polar Treat in Perry Maine has been a seasonal icon for over 70 years. Originally opened by John and Mary MacDonald, the establishment has a rich history of quality, service, and food. Jack and Bernadette Maloney were the second owners for 20 years and the business transitioned to only its third set of owners, Michelle and Judson Curtis in 2019. The Curtis’s belief is the same commitment and quality as the prior owners, and understand the community importance of the Polar Treat.
Something to offer for everyone
The Polar Treat offers soft serve chocolate, vanilla, twist, and a special flavor of the week, a variety of hard serve flavors, shakes, flurries, sundaes, floats, dips, and so much more!
The Polar Treat also sells food, expanding its menu each year. Food items include burgers, hot dogs, fries, onion rings, chicken, lobster, crabmeat, shrimp, haddock, and many appetizer options.
